It might be nice to add a block to each project dashboard called 'Journal'. This block would contain a 'Blog Like' listing of chronologically displayed entries outlining something that occurs in the process.

For example. I am the Project Leader, so I see a button > New Journal Entry. I click the button. I see a form that allows me to enter a title, attach a file, type in a body (maybe with an image), and associate the journal post with a milestone. I enter the info I need to add, click submit, and my new journal entry now appears front and center in the left column, top of the dashboard. A quick scan shows all of the journal blocks I've added to the project (up to like 10). That way, I have a freestyle, front and center way to communicate with the project team and the customer.

The customer logs on, sees the news / event is able to enter comments. In Blogger, Wordpress, etc.. style the number of comments is displayed below the post.

Hmm... I'm liking this idea. Blogs are so handy for chrono-display of short narrative blurbs.
