I thought this was fixed in 1.1.1 - I have just upgraded, created a new dictionary and on trying to edit a section have yet again been told "Cannot create translation file".
Any suggestions? I have cleared the cache etc.

Yes, this bug is fixed in v1.1.1. Make sure that /activecollab/localization folder is writable. Also, make sure that folder for any specific localization is also writable (for instance, if your localization is fr_FR.UTF-8 there should a folder with same name and PHP should be able to write in it).

I have tried both of these suggestions and I still get the error.

I have created an account on our site for you and you will get a welcome email shortly.

Thanks.

Is there any movement on this? I sent a welcome mail over 24 hours ago and we really need to be able to edit the dictionary.

Ralph, please send an e-mail to support@a51dev.com, including your FTP login info and activeCollab account with admin privileges, and we will take care of this.

I can't give FTP details to our server at a level you need to change permissions as it has sensitive client data.

Can you provide a list of permissions required please.

I have already created you a Active Collab admin account and sent out a welcome email to you.

Without FTP access we can't examine your setup and try to find where the problem is. If you chmod-ed /localization and everything in it to 777, then your aC should work fine. But, it's not working good and we can't find the reason for such behavior this way. With an admin account in your aC setup and no access to code, we can do nothing more than confirm that there is a problem.

Hi, I changed it to 777 from 775 and it now works.

I don't really like having directories on 777. Will AC eventually CHMOD directories itself and then set them back to something more secure once done?

No, it will not.

Write permissions are required only when you are working on translation files through administration. Read permissions are enough when translation is used by the rest of the system. You can change permissions to read only when you are done with the translation and don't need to make further changes through administration.

I find a fix for the problem. If all others fixes does not help at all try to manual create the folder bg_BG.UTF-8 (Locale) if you create Bulgarian language and set 777 ;)
