Hey everyone,

We are considering moving from projectpier to activeCollab and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the transition. I noticed the activeCollab importer tool in the downloads section. Isn't projectpier a fork of activeCollab 0.7? Thus, is it possible to use the importer to transition my data from projectpier to activecollab? After purchase of activeCollab, would there be any support for this transition or am I out of luck?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

-Ben

activeCollab 0.7.1 importer should work with ProjectPeir just fine, but we never actually tested it with PP installation. Please note that Importer module currently works only with activeCollab 1.0.6, not 1.1 so you should install v1.0.6, migrate data and than upgrade to v1.1. If you get stuck with upgrade process you can contact us and we'll provide assistance.

We are working on v1.1 compatible importer but it may take us some time until we reach something stable.

Ilija,

Thank you for the quick response to my pre-sale questions. As you probably know by now, I went ahead and purchased the corporate license and am quite pleased with the software. Also, it's important to note that the 'Importer' successfully transferred our data from our previous installation of project pier. We then upgraded to the latest release. The support articles were very helpful as well. Thanks again and we look forward to future releases from your team.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the followup. I'm glad to hear that PP hasn't changed much so activeCollab 0.7.1 importer works well with it without any modifications.
