Hi Ilija,

Is there anythig we can change to set the default subscription status in tickets to subscribe everybody assigned to a project? I don't mind hacking the files a bit - if there is anything you know of that we can adjust.

The reason I ask is because there is no way I am going to be able to train my clients to use a RSS feed.

If there was an easy hack I would post it in two topics you replied to yesterday asking for this. Additional topic does not change that - this is a bit more complex and I'll look into it if I find time.

Regarding the problem itself - we are aware that team might miss discussions or tickets created by clients because they haven't subscribed them. That is what RSS is for at the moment (all modern browsers on all platforms support RSS bookmarks so everyone has a good and well tested RSS reader). I really don't know why clients need to be notified about everything... Subscribing everyone to everything is hardly a solution, especially on bigger projects.

Hey Ilija,

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you saw the other posts. Others were asking & One of them was started over 2 weeks ago & there was no reply from anbody.

And the part about clients needing to know about everything... I've always been told that this would be a wonderful job - if it wasn't fo all the damn clients ;-)

Seriously though, we use aC to involve our clients in what is going on and not all projects are "Bigger" Projects. We could have 3 medium sized projects happening for one client who is not going to want to subscribe to three different RSS Feeds and constantly scan them to see if they have changed. He would preferr to have an email notification each time a task is completed. Also if he sees a task completed he might just leave a comment that relates to that & we need to know. I have too many projects on the go to scan an RSS feed for each of them. I do subscribe to tickets as they are opened, but our client might start a ticket & then I am at the mercy of him - weather he remembered to subscribe me or not.

Also the RSS Feed is a neverending list of stuff. Emals are focused. When an email is opened there is one thing "Task X was completed..." I think there is more chance of it being noticed, than opening a list where there is tons of tasks & comments & changes.

I realsize your busy, but I appreciate you looking into this.

Thanks,

just lettingyou know this is a huge deal for us. in the last few days even, we have clients uploading files, starting discussions and we are never notifed. walking them through the subscriptions UI is difficult, it would be great if you could just assign a person to receive notification whenever someone makes something, like the project leader or PM - they reall want to see this and be on top of things

sorry, on more point on this: we just had a client upload a file and make some comments on a discussion that we were not subscribed to and neither of those events appear in the RSS feed for the project

UPDATE: ok, the files were attachments to comments on tickets. we were notified that comments were made in the RSS feed, but not that files were attached and the comments didnt state that attachments were made
