[fixed] Installation error (php4)

I installed the zip file and went to the directory in my web browser and got this error:
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in activeCollab/init.php on line 7"
Any idea on what this error is and how to fix it?

Sorry, error should have been:

I have both PHP v4.4.1 & PHP v5.1.1 on the server I'm using : servage.net

PHP5 is required. activeCollab will not run on PHP4

nevermind i found the answer to my problem ... sorry to bother you
i had to create a .htaccess in my root to force PHP to parsed with PHP5

OK, good to know. People report that error and I assumed that it is PHP4 in game but wasn't 100% sure. Thanks!

First, thanks to Mr. Studen. Your efforts are great. This is what the Internet's all about.
Second, I'm no PHP programmer, and I get the same error dasickis is getting below when I run the installer.
How do I fix it? How do I create a ".htaccess in my root"? Can someone give me a step by step?
