I just thought about the ability to link whole projects as a milestone in another project.
This could be very useful for large projects with different teams.
It could still be handled as it is, but by creating a milestone in a specific project, there is a dropdown where the creator can choose if it is a "normal" milestone or a "other project".
If the creator choose "normal" he can straight go ahead to insert the details and create the milestone
if the creator choose "other project", another dropdown appears where the specific project can be choosed. All other Options are disabled in this case.
As this option is only a Link, there shouldn´t be much problems with different modules or functions like ACL or Feeds.
We just came to the same conclusion that this is a very critical issue for management of large multi-faceted projects which effectively have sub-projects.
