    <description><![CDATA[<p>We called GoDaddy to sort this issue out and they gave us the following smtp host to use:<br />
<br />
SMTP host: relay-hosting.secureserver.net<br />
it would connect without added an SMTP Port but we ended up using Port 25 since AC wouldn't allow us to save the settings without a port.<br />
<br />
It's worked just fine for a few weeks now.</p>]]></description>

    <description><![CDATA[<p>I highly recommend NOT using GoDaddy for any hosting whatsoever. Our company has had numerous issues with their email system because they place such tight controls on email and don't offer much support to work around those issues. In my experience... even though Godaddy is cheap... it's such a pain in the rear to use their system... in the end it's just not worth the trouble, headaches and man hours you waste trying to work with their funky setup. There are MUCH better solutions elsewhere.</p>]]></description>

    <description><![CDATA[<p>I had a much easier time setting up activeCollab using Total Choice Hosting than using GoDaddy. For my specific installation, none of these issues were present on TCH servers, while ALL of the issues were present using GoDaddy. I am not affiliated with TCH or GoDaddy, other than being a customer.<br />

    <description><![CDATA[<p>If your are GoDaddy customer, it is possible that you may experience problems after installation (&quot;no input file specified&quot; or 404 errors) and with mailing. Here are the common problems (with solutions):<br />

1. After installation you may get &quot;No input file specified&quot; error. If that happens, you should apply <a href="https://www.activecollab.com/support/index.php?pg=kb.page&amp;id=26" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">this tweak</a> to have path info routed as GET parameter. <br />
<br />
Main issue here is that <b>.htaccess changes are cached and that you might get 404 error after applying this tweak</b>, but it does not mean that the tweak is not working. You'll need to wait about an hour for cache to expire and system will start working after that. There is no way to manually force cache expiration as far as we know so the wait part is required.<br />
<br />
2. When sending emails, From address need to be of the domain SMTP server is using. For example, if your website is http://example.com and you are trying to send emails that have From set to me@gmail.com, email will be rejected. Instead, set any @example.com address in Notifications From block on Administration &gt; Mailing form for server to accept future messages.<br />
<br />
3. If your are using GoDaddy SMTP server, it may cause CRAM-MD5 authentication errors. Server does not respond in a way activeCollab expects it to respond and it may crash the mailer. We need to dig a bit deeper to find the exact solution around this issue. Until we do, you can opt to use external SMTP server. If you are GMail user, you can <a href="http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/3552/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">use their servers</a> for free.<br />
<br />
Apart from these issues (which do not need to affect specific server your website is running on), activeCollab runs great on GoDaddy servers.<br />
<br />
Please note that I do not write this out of frustration or to bash GoDaddy. Instead, if someone saves a couple of minutes by knowing that there might be some problems and how to address them my goal with this topic is reached. Hope GoDaddy customers will find this information helpful :)</p>]]></description>
