After first and second beta version of activeCollab 2, here is activeCollab 2.0.2. This is mostly bug fix release, but there are some notable changes:

1. Checklists interface is improved. Give it a try.
2. Editor automatically expends as you type. Only exception are pages - they can be really long so auto-expander is turned off for them.
3. New notification when ticket is completed with a comment. One combined notification is send instead of two messages.
4. Email notifications now include more details about the object they are related to.
5. A log of bug fixes... A LOT! :)

Please note the following changes to upgrade script:

1. System will backup your existing email templates in /work folder and replace them with new ones.
2. Upgrade script creates a backup of the database before executing the upgrade script. This one is really useful :)

As with previous beta version, 2.0.2 beta is available to everyone who has valid support and upgrade plan on February 1st. If your support and upgrade plan expired before that day, you'll need to renew before you can access the new version.

If you are new to activeCollab 2.0 beta testing, check out Release Notes to learn what is new in activeCollab 2.

Warning

activeCollab 2.0.2 is a beta quality software. Some things may be broken, feature may misbehave etc. We do not recommend using this version in production environment. Instead, use it for testing - to get familiar with new features, see how upgrade works etc. Any problems you find, please report so we can have them addressed before final version is released.

Downloading and Installing Beta

* Installation instructions for people installing a fresh copy
* Upgrade instructions for people who are upgrading (same instructions apply to existing activeCollab 2.0 beta users - you should also run the upgrade tool again)

Is this beta secure ? Can it be used in public ?
We have 1.1.5 on https, so has AC2.02 some security flaws ?

There are no known security issues with activeCollab 2.0.2, but we do not recommend that you use beta versions in production environment. Beta are provided so you can test them, see how the upgrade works, get familiar with new features etc.

Hello !

Do you have an idea of the date when the final public release of activeCollab 2. will be out ?
Do you think it may be May 2009 ?

Thanks,
PNL

Has anyone had issues with the visual editor since upgrading to 2.0.2? Mine completely disappeared, I disabled and re-enabled it and still no luck.

@PNL:

There is no ETA for this release, sorry. Stable version will be released when things get, well... stable and when system gets in shape so everyone can use it in production environment. This should happen before May though, but I really can't promise anything.

When we say beta, we mean - beta for testing, not Google like beta ;)

@Denny:

We tested editor in many browsers and had no issues with it. What browser do you use? Is there any JavaScript errors reported?

I may have been a little premature in my post - I did some further checking and the editor does show up, just not until you click/tab into the content area. Is this new behavior or has it always been like this? I don't remember being confused by it before but it's entirely possible I just wasn't paying attention in the past.

It's new behavior. Advanced controls will be displayed only when needed (editor gets focus).

We have been using AC for nearly a year now and I have to tell you, this release is INCREDIBLY awesome.
I love the increased flexibility with drag and drop and the clean look and feel (even better now!)

You have completely exceeded our expectations.
