Ilija Studen:Templates and dates:
You have a template project with start date set for December 1st and one ticket in it due on December 14th. When you create a project based on that project and set start date for new one, system will preserve number of days between template start date and due dates from task in a template. For example, if you create a project that starts on January 1st, system will preserve the time difference and make sure that ticket from template project is due on January 14th.
Template data on the Dashboard:
Just mark template projects as completed or paused and they will not appear on the dashboard, but they will be available in template picker.
Obviously for a template, an actual date is pretty pointless so I was wondering if there was anything setup to look at the date that a project is created and then base the dates set on the duration within the template.
What I mean is that if I have a milestone in my project template that starts the day the project starts and runs 2 weeks, when the new project is created the system takes todays date and then sets the milestone end for 2 weeks from today.
The idea being that I could setup dates in my project and those would get created in a new project based on todays date.
Another item is that when Im creating these projects that are only for templates I obviously am assigned to it (its my project) and when I create milestones, tasks, tickets, etc etc and assign dates they end up showing up in my dashboard as late etc. Is there any functionality that can be used to ignore completely a category that is setup through the admin as 'templates'? When the admin has set a category as for templates only it wouldnt appear on the dashboard etc and only be accessible if you accessed it directly or used in the dropdown when you create a new project.
Thoughts?
