Hey Cliff,

A small trick we use is this:

1) Save your logo (with transparent background etc.) in PNG file format
2) Rename the file to logo.GIF (lowercase)
3) Upload to: yourACinstall.com/public/brand/logo.gif

The browser will render the image correctly as a PNG file, and AC will display it as it's looking for a .GIF file... so no need to worry about hacking core files either - and your logo will look awesome no-matter what background you've got going :)

Credits go to someone on the forum here who shared this tip some time ago :) (forgot name tho sorry)

Hello Cliff,

One of the rules that we set for themes is that they can't control the templates, just the styling, so you can't override that image with the theme alone. As mentioned before, GIF with white matt color should work OK in most cases. If that does not satisfy you, you can alter the templates and use a different image on login form.

Thanks for the quick reply. I decided to create my custom theme and have had no issues with the creation or modification of CSS. However, it seems like changing the template file is still required to affect a change in the logo image. Is there a relationship between a new theme and the template files? I would still like to use one image for the Login Logo and another for the Logo once I am logged in.

Thanks for any additional help you can provide.

Hello Cliff,

If you wish to hack the core files (not recommended, because you'll need to reapply the changes when you upgrade to every new version), you can simply use absolute URL of custom logo that you want to use.

Since the login page is a gray background and the internal page is a tan gradient, the logo doesn't quite look right when saved as a gif with a matte transparency for one color or the other. I see this line but could not tell where to change it to make it reference a logologin gif that has the gray background matte color. I tried to make a couple changes but it did not work. Is there a CSS file that references the image?

img src="{brand what=logo}" alt="{$owner_company->getName()|clean} logo"

Template used for login page is located in /activecollab/application/modules/system/views/auth/login.tpl. Please note that by changing content of this file, you are making a hack. Hacks don't "survive" upgrades so next time you upgrade the system, you'll need to re-apply the changes you make.

Please consider creating a theme or a separate form on your website that submits data to activeCollab (as described in this topic: Custom login form) instead.

I'd like to edit the CSS & HTML in the first page which is the login page. However, I cannot find the HTML or PHP file for it. Where is it?
Thanks.
