Average load time is bellow 1 second (~0.5 depending on the page and amount of that system needs to load and display). If it goes above 1 second, we recommend that you ask for better performing server or change host.

When picking server, we recommend that you go with setup where you have your resources guaranteed, not shared, so VPS plans are highly recommended. We can recommend Tilted from personal experience and we also heard a lot of good stuff about VPS plans offered by SliceHost.

The average time from mouse click to full loaded page, say from a project dashboard to checklists, is 3-4 seconds for me. This seems very unresponsive and I am wondering if it's something to do with the configuration I have, perhaps my web host or the mysql database or something more general?
