Unfortunately, what you cannot do is differentiate between assignments (which may span several users) and just people who have been given ultimate "responsibility."
If what you are trying to do (as a manager) is find all uncompleted tasks in a project that are dependent upon a particular user, -- this seems near impossible as any list generated, includes all tickets/tasks that the user is "assigned" to, as well.
This is a HUGE additional time issue... I mean, I could write some raw SQL queries to get what I want, BUT... ;) ... ok, fine, I could probably write the SQL faster than I could sort through tickets.
In activeCollab 2, there is a filter that makes distinction between assignments that are assigned to you and assignments that you are responsible for. Please check the screenshot.
I've seen that-- but what I need as a manager, it not "person accessing page" (me), but to filter each of my subordinates (usually... of course, to see what they haven't completed). Am I missing something? This does not seem possible.
You are correct, this does work only for logged in user and can't be used for other users. We'll see what we can do about this in one of the future releases.
Our Company has just bought your Product and as a Resource manager I have to manage 13 designer and developer`s daily/weekly schedule. This feature in this post is exactly what I need to be able to have a daily view on what my staff is working on and what lies ahead for them in next few days, to be able to plan new work coming in.
This functionality has not yet been built into your latest release and this is a massive issue for me. All you need is to build in a SQL query to allow me to set a filter to view other people's assignments and tickets, how difficult can that be?
You haven’t acted on this request for over a year now? I urgently need a fix/patch on our version of ActiveColab, as my efforts to manage a whole dev team using your product is causing misery in my life, and the company’s.
Please reply on this and get me some sort of answer.
You can still see what's assigned to different users or members of a company. Note that the filter can't be limited to responsible people only and that you should be member of all projects that you want to pull assignments from.
Also, as a project manager, you can go to user's profile and select Schedule from Options drop-down to see user's assignments in calendar view. Only assignments with due date set are displayed using this tool.
If you go to a user's profile and select Schedule from Options drop-down to see user's assignments in calendar view, the I can see ALL the tickets that this person is responsible for AND the tickets that they are selected to be a “Watcher”. – This does not help me... I need to only see the tickets that one person is ‘responsible’ for, that’s it. I don’t want to see anything else.
We run in the region of 140 tickets a week for all my staff and I need be able to filter tickets with a specific status or tickets within a specific project, or tickets assigned to a specific person spanning 3 different projects.
The system I used to use (Redmine) used to give me this type of flexibility with no issues, by setting up a custom filter which I can change to my heart’s desire.
Now using ActiveColab I have to hunt around to try and find these views instead of being able to filter anything I want within a centralised location.
We really need this feature as well. I don't understand why the filter only shows projects that I am a part of. I need to see all projects, filtered by assignee.
Many of us are project managers but also developers, which means we only want to "see" every project when we are managing others' work, but not in our own "developer" workflow.
I hope you can add a simple checkbox that toggles showing "all projects" vs. "only projects I'm a part of."
