We already have a working prototype, and I'm hoping that we'll have something that is generally useful by the end of the summer. Once it is ready, we'll release it for general use on a donation-ware basis.

If images are smaller than specific file size (500kb by default, but this can be changed - check this article for details: Problems with Memory and Image Thumbnail Creation) system will create thumbnails and previews.

Specialized area for images can be developed as a module, but that would require programming experience.

We take photos of our workshops as we do them, and it would be handy to have them stored in the AC project workspace. We've tried uploading the images as files within projects, but this is rather long-winded and access is not great. What would be good would be to be able to upload images (and ideally tag them somehow) to an area within a project, and then when you view this area you get a series of thumbnails shown.

Any ideas if this exists already? or how it might be done?
