Apologies in advance if this is straight forward but I have spent the past 2 hrs trying to find out how to feed the due dates of my tickets into my Google Calendar (or any other calendar).
Is this feasible?
If not, how can I get some sort of feed integrated? I like the "send reminder email" of Google Calendar when used in conjunction with a calendar.
On another note, can I do the same with my assigned stuff?
Ticket and task information is included in iCalendar feed as VTODO elements. As far as we know, Google Calendar does not have support for VTODO elements just yet, but supports only VEVENT elements (activeCollab presents milestones as VEVENT elements).
We recommend that you use a calendar application that has better support for iCalendar format. On Windows you can use Windows Calendar (ships with Vista) or Outlook with appropriate plugins. On Mac there is iCal.
Thanks Ilija - that would be why. I can use iCal but since we are on Google Apps I read everything via Google Calendar. I guess I just have to wait until Google upps their game to VTODO elements!
Thanks for responding!
I use iCal on OSX to keep track of milestones, but i very much like to also see tasks in there. When I use the download option in calendar, ical also shows all tasks just fine, but when i subscribe to it, only milestones are shown but no tasks. Any idea?
1. When subscribed, make sure that you untick option that tells iCal to remove todos (check the screenshot).
2. iCal in Leopard has a bug that haven't been resolved by Apple yet - iCal just does not import tasks right away. You'll need to manually refresh calendar a couple of times (by selecting calendar in the list and refreshing it) and eventually iCal will load the tasks.
