Thoughts re: attachments

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed already, or if this is an "issue" that's already been addressed in activeCollab 2.0 (I'm using 1.x currently and haven't upgraded).

The issue is: not a single person using activeCollab in my organization, with the exception of me, has completely figured out the interface for attaching files to Discussion posts or Ticket comments. This is what happens:

1. They write their comment, click "Attach file", select their file, and post the comment. So far, so good.

2. If they have a second file to attach, or if they forgot to attach the file to the previous comment, they start a NEW comment and attach their file to that comment. Nobody ever sees the "Attach another file" link. I even had one guy (a very web-saavy designer) write a comment that said, "You know, it would be great if I could attach multiple files at a time...". It's THAT unintuitive.

I've had activeCollab in daily use in my organization for so long now that I can say definitively that this is simply a user interface flaw. Every single person gets it wrong.

They made it possible to attach up to 5 files at once in 2.x, providing the total size of the files don't extent the limit your setup has, so unless you have problem with upgrading I suggest you do that. There's a lot of very good new features in 2.x as well.

Hi Brian,

As Dwarf already mentioned, this issue has been covered with activeCollab 2. You can attach up to 5 files to a new comment (ticket, discussion etc), plus there's the old system is still in place so you can attach more files if you want.
