Progress indicator for uploading files

Hi, it would be great to know the progress of upload for files. And multiple progress indicators for multiple files. Basecamp just realeased it, you can check it out here:

I think this feature would be quite useful for ActiveCollab so we know when our internet connection is just hanging and doing nothing while we think it is uploading the file.

Thanks!

This would be fantastic as well, we've been having problems uploading files recently and would like to know if its still working or just hanging out there.

+1... But for me something like this would be low priority...

On the subject, Flickr has a great visualization of the uploading images/files progress too.

I agree with JC. A progress indicator (for multiple files) would really be a plus.

And a file preview as well. Basecamp just added it ; It's useful and prevents from the "file opened in a blank page", with the feeling of "leaving" the software.

@Leon I agree, the flickr uploader is one of the best ever made.

I love these ideas too --- would be great to see the "lightbox" style previews as well as the progress bars.

I know there are quite a few pre-made solutions for this using Jquery --- not sure if any of those would be useful, or work with the existing systems too.

Uploadify

FancyUpload

Of course there are unlimited number of variations on the Lightbox style preview too.

For the love of all things good please use something like uploadify, and a queue system? Amazing, gotta love that JS.

We are considering improvements in uploading files in general. That doesn't mean that you have to stop proposing ideas, just that we are aware that there is a lot place for improvements when it comes to uploading files

Goran,
This is the ONE thing holding our company back from purchasing. We use a lot of large files and really need to know the file progress so we know uploads are working properly.
