Invoice Module - Payment Gateways

I'd like to see the Invoicing module capable of syncing with payment gateways such as paypal and 2checkout.

That would increase the value of activecollab for us significantly.

Thus far it's been a bit difficult to get employees and clients alike to use the software. If we were able to move all of our invoicing into AC including the actuall billing (by using a payment gateway such as paypal), it would be alot easier to get everybody to use it.

Thanks for considering this request.

I would also like to see this.

Hi,

We are aware that this is great way to extend invoicing module, and we are already considering it.

The main goal for us, for the moment, is to make solid and stable module, that does the main part of the job without any glitches. Extending and integrating this module with payment gateways comes later.

I know you don't like to give out any time-frames for anything but i figured i'd give this question a shot.

Do you expect to have Payment gateway integration ready by the time this build is out of beta?

I ask because i am considering coding integration with paypal myself if it's not coming any time soon. I'd just like to know if i would be wasting my time for you guys to turn around and do a better job than me faster, or if it would be a good idea for me to go ahead and code it while we wait.

There will be no integration with payment gateway when this module is out of beta.

Our general rule is that we do not add new features when release gets in the beta - we just stabilize what we already have and leave new features for new releases (and new betas). This means that what you now see in invoicing module is what will be included in stable version when it's out.

Ok thanks Ilija. I'll go ahead and code it to work with paypal then on my own for now :)

Great. Sorry for being negative in previous comment, I just wanted to let you know that you should not wait for stable release to start working on PayPal integration.

All comments and insights regarding invoicing module are welcome. We really want to know how you feel it should evolve in the future.

No problem, i didn't take it as you being negative. You gave me the answer I was looking for, just wanted to make sure I didn't spend time working on something you guys were already doing.

Thanks

chealey, have you got this to work? If so...would you provide the code and/or insert the code for $$$?

info, no i have not. My team's been working on some other things not relating to ActiveCollab lately, however if you are seriously interested you could commission me to create that functionality for you.

I may be wrong but i believe the ActiveCollab team will do things such as this if you commission them for it. Might want to get them to do it if they will before resorting to 3rd parties such as myself, we'd do a good job but they know the system better obviously.

Let me know.
