Discussion Categories not showing older categories in drop down

This is a weird problem. I have quite a few categories for my discussions. (They all show up in the Admin panel under Master Categories > Discussions.)

But today when I went to create a new discussion in a project, there was only a blank space and a "Create New Category." As it turns out, this discussion needed a new category anyway so I created it. Then when I went to the Admin Panel to see why my other categories weren't showing up, they were all displayed, along with the newest one. Yet, only the latest created one shows up under the Discussion drop down.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Master categories are automatically created when project is created. After that, they loose all relations with master categories so they can be deleted, renamed etc.

It's possible that project is created without master categories being applied. Did you create it based on a template?

Yep, I sure did. I thought those would travel with the project since the categories are unique to the type of projects we do, and we have templates based on project type. So when I create a new project based on an existing template, I need to set up my categories before I do anything else, correct?

In activeCollab 2.3 categories are transferred from template as well. Upgrade and try if system behaves as you want it to (it should) :)
