Cannot Create a Project Template

I've tried to create a Project Template a million times and it seems as though it does not work. I've contacted support and I'm just told to not add anyone to the project (which I'm not doing), but still, no template created.

Help please.

You can use any of the existing projects as a template, meaning that there is no separate work flow for creating something called "project template" - just create a project that you would like to have as a template for other projects. When you want to create another project, you will be able to pick that (and any other project) from the drop-down menu at the form for adding new projects.

If you don't want to keep your main Projects page clear from template projects, then set the template project's status to "paused", for example, and it won't be visible at active projects list (but you will be able to access it from the Archive link at the bottom of Projects page). No matter if the status is set to paused or active, the project will remain at the list of project templates at the "new project" form.

I'm using 2.2.1 corporate version with a hand full of active projects. When I try to create a new project, I can't select one of these as a project template. They don't appear in the list when I add a new project.

Can you give me a hint?

Please check Administration > General page and make sure that Project Template Group is set to either no value (-- None --) or to project group with projects that you want to use as templates.

Let's say you have a 100's of projects that can be formed from 1 of 10 different Project Templates.

Rather than see a list of 100's of projects that you can select from as a template in the Project drop-down menu at the bottom of the Creating New Project page, how can it be setup so that all that is visible are those 10 Project Templates to choose from.

It appears that these 10 Special Project Templates will appear as you use them, but also other projects will appear there as well.

Is there a way to be able to select from 10 Default Templates that I would like to create for my group?

You can set up Project Template Group on Administration > General Settings page. When set, only projects from this project group will be offered as templates.
