Depends on how many tweaks you want to make to the interface and to the internal workings of the objects (tasks and tickets).

Due to nature of PHP, you cannot "inject" behavior in existing classes, and activeCollab's framework does not let you override all classes so in same cases you may need to hack the existing code for some enhancements.

On the other hand, JavaScript is fully dynamic so you can make pretty much any change to the interface and override existing behavior.

Would it be possible to develop a plug in that would enable dependencies or does the AC engine work in such a way that makes this difficult to do.

Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

1. We do not have plans to introduce strict task dependencies.

If user wants to be notified when specific task is due (because he is waiting for it to be completed so he can work on something else for example), he can simply subscribe to that task to get all notifications about it.

Type of structure that we offer for assignments is Milestone > Ticket > Task and it proved to be quite flexible even without enforcing any strict dependency system.

2. This seams to be a popular request (time estimates) and we'll consider it for one of the upcoming releases.

3. We'll see what we can do about this, but I can't make any promises at the moment.

I have 3 feature requests for future

1) Task dependencies are a must for me and my team. In addition when a dependent task is complete, it would be great to have an email alert sent to the assignees of the next task.

2) I would like to be able to budget for time to each task and then track using the addition to time tracking. Then have a report to compare to time allocated to time spent. May be even take it a step further and have a entire budgeting system in place.

3) Page specific or File specific permissions that take assign who can and cannot see a specific document. The Private toggle fall short of the level of permissions needed to fully integrate key piece of information such as copies of contracts.
