Is it possible to use this module for
- creating budget fields on Tickets and Milestones
- using these budget fields in CSV Exports of the Time module?

Yes. Fields will show on view page and edit page.

This looks like a good module. Would it be difficult to customize to make the custom field(s) be able to lookup from a database table? I'd like to be able to populate a pulldown pick-list automatically.

Also, does the search in custom fields use the system search or another search?

Finally, can you provide a bit more details on your comment "extensible for other third party module (some programming skill required)"?

@Guy:

1. Currently it can't look up from a table but I'm sure it's customizable.

2. It uses system search (by building search index on the customized fields).

3. People need to know how to define jquery selectors to add *injection point* for the fields on a third party module.

@Awebus, this module currently doesn't support removing a system field.

Update:

cust_fields module now supports both 2.3 and 2.3.1!

Also you will be able to define role specific access control for editing/viewing separately!

Does it support calculated read-only fields? We're looking for an extra field that gives each project a unique ID based on date, customer and previous project ID (lloks something like 2010-GOOG-0052 and the next one would be 2010-MSFT-0053 and each year the numers start at 0001).
