Apart from activeCollab 2.3.1 that we launched earlier today, we have another nice surprise for you - first release of our own desktop timer app:

activeCollab Timer tracks time on your desktop computer and lets you easily submit it to activeCollab via activeCollab API.

Highlighted features:

* Track time in multiple activeCollab installations
* Support for multiple timers (only one can be active at a time)
* Submit time for a project, a ticket or a task
* Complete a ticket or a task with time submission
* Idle time detection
* Minimal interval and rounding

and this is how the main window looks like:

Currently it's alpha release, just to test it out and it's available for Windows only (Mac version will be released soon). Another great thing about it is that it's free (not open source, but you can use it for free).

Download and more screenshots are available on activeCollab Timer's page in Downloads section. Try it out and tell us what do you think!

@Erik: Good and stable timer app seamed like it would benefit way more people than native iPhone app, so we went for that. We'll see what we can do about the iPhone in the future.

Even just increased mobile functionality would be awesome, doesn't need to be iPhone specific, just let me do more managing from the mobile web...

Awesome!

Are you considering a Linux version?

Doesn't work for me. "Refresh" hangs at 0%, looks like no connection...

Probably, the reason that we have AC installation accessed via https and we are behind a proxy.

At the same time, I've personally made a small application that use AC API, and it works well with our installation (that app moves time records from TimePanic app to AC). So the problem should be somewhere in activeCollab Timer.

@Claudio:

Linux version is not high on our list of priorities at the moment. That can change if we see more interest from people who use it, of course.

@Alexey & @Matthieu:

Thanks, we'll check that out.

I have a bug :
When using a timer assigned to a project (not its child tickets or checklists), the link published on the dashbord is bad, not linking to the good project.
The link "General" is set to project 2, while it should be project 6 in my case.

Hello Antoine,

Can you please provide us a step by step routine that we can use to reproduce the issue - what projects do you have defined, how you track time for them, what you expect to see on the Dashboard and what you actually get etc. That would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for testing activeCollab Timer.
