Don't get me wrong I really like this auto-subscribe feature and on some important messages it's really useful. But we are using ac with a huge group of people and an email for every comment quickly turns into 13 new emails within 15 minutes. So on some messages it's not *that* important to have everyone subscribe. Albeit on important messages it is quite useful and a crucial feature.

I've looked around and can't find a way to change this setting. So yeah am I missing something so is there no way to turn it off?

I'm not putting this in feature requests because I think there are better things to spend time on at this point.

(also thanks for such a great tool, we've been using it a lot for different things at my school and it's been a great open source alternative.)

Currently there is no way to turn it off. Some parts of subscription system will be redone in next release (subscriptions will be provided as a system resource) so we'll see what can be done here.

I wonder if it is possible too to have a subscription option for a "daily" or "weekly" update, so the user can request to have all the notifications (header, or even better, the message content included) compiled into a single notification e-mail. I know that this is possible with discussion lists, so it would be really nice if this feature was included.
thanks.

I really like the idea of a daily/weekly "digest" feature for activeCollab's notfications (as mentioned by lifeflame above). This would be an attractive feature that really speaks to the "collaboration" aspect of activeCollab.

In general, any feature or functionality that increases or improves on the principle of "collaboration" would be a hit in my view.

It's been a few years since this was posted - have there been any updates? It's still really, really annoying if you're mass assigning quite a lot of work (as happens at the start of a project) and the system sends everyone with a huge amount of emails.

I would love it if you're adding a new ticket and you have the option to check a box to assign who that ticket is assigned to and ALSO a box under that with 'subscriptions' and you can assign people who need to be subscribed to a ticket. The majority of the time the person who creates the ticket does NOT need to be subscribed to the ticket. They can check scheduling or on the page after login for recent activity on what's been marked off.

Also currently I seem to be getting subscribed to every time anyone posts a ticket - why? Can I turn this off at least, it's worse than spam coming at me.

This is most probably because you are a project leader. If you are a project leader, and there are no people assigned to the ticket, you'll be notified about it.

Isnt there somewhere code lines that I can turn the subscription settings off? Like one in older version; http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/81/
