Tell us more about you, your company and what do you do?
My name is Steve George. I’m a Project Manager for Sony Online Entertainment. A portion of my job is to manage outsourcing for our current project, Free Realms (http://www.freerealms.com).
How did you find out about activeCollab? What were your first impressions?
I have been following ActiveCollab personally since it was an open source project. I’ve always liked the product for its ease of use and quick workflow.
How were you managing projects before activeCollab? Email, pen and paper, another project management tool?
We originally started managing outsource projects with a simple Forum package. Although this worked for smaller projects, it quickly became an admin nightmare in respect to configuration and maintenance. A prime example being…Making sure multiple outsourcers didn’t accidently gain access/view to projects they had no involvement with.
How did activeCollab help you improve your team's collaboration? What are the tools you use the most? If you were asked to pick one "killer feature" which one would it be?
Using ActiveCollab for our Art related approvals has been the biggest benefit. The outsource group can easily post an asset for review and we can start a discussion thread directly beneath the posting. When everyone’s happy, we close the thread with “Approved”. Being web based, we’re able to bring up the data anywhere within the company without the need for an install.
What do coworkers think? How have they adjusted to activeCollab?
Individuals who used ActiveCollab became familiar with the software within a day or so.
Thank you for your time! Anything you have to add?
No, thanks!
