Tell us more about you, your company and what do you do?

Alternate Image is a software development and website design firm. We develop custom applications for all types of businesses and specialized applications for the hospitality industry and for real estate professionals.

How did you find out about activeCollab? What were your first impressions?

I found about activeCollab a year ago when someone else mentioned it on a forum.

How were you managing projects before activeCollab? Email, pen and paper, another project management tool?

For years we had used ACT to manage our projects. This is just a hair better than passing around paper. The problem with that was there was no accountability clients to keep them on track and there was no way for the client to follow project progress.

How did activeCollab help you improve your team's collaboration? What are the tools you use the most? If you were asked to pick one "killer feature" which one would it be?

When we were using ACT our programming and graphics department didn't want to use ACT. The general consensus was that ACT was not a project management piece of software and it was cumbersome and didn't do what needed to be done. When we switched over to activeCollab the attitude completely shifted. The killer feature to us is being able to show our professionalism and dedication to our clients and their projects. It sets us apart from the companies that are doing work from their dining room table. Our project site is one of the features that I have in all of our proposals to new clients.

What do coworkers think? How have they adjusted to activeCollab?

Absolutely. It easily ranks as one of our primary tools and is used in all departments. It is not a question of adjusting to activeCollab - the question is how did we get anything done before activeCollab. Our company consist of technical staff, administrative staff and sales. It is used by all of us.

I have to mention your support. In the last year I've had a couple of issues and each time they have been dealt with extraordinarily well. Fast, professional and with a great attitude. There are lot of great products out there. There are very few products that have great support. activeCollab easily ranks up with the best.
