Can you provide language files of v1.0 for i18n?

The redesign is nice, but fails completely under Safari v2, so Mac users should use Firefox.

Thanks for the report. We tested only in Safari 3 (works fine)...

Ilija-
Love the new site, and it’s exciting, as I’m anxious for the 1.0 release. But, again with the Safari problem… I hate to be a stickler but there is no “Safari 3” yet… it’s still in Beta, and thus, most people, including myself, haven’t made the switch.

Also, I know this has been discussed in the forums, but that logo… it just reads as “OctiveCollab” because the “a” is so peculiar in the way it intersects with the “c”. I’m a graphic designer myself, and even I can’t get past this.

Problem is most probably with cached stylesheets. Here are Safari 2.0.4 screenshots taken with BrowserCamp service:

* Screenshot 1
* Screenshot 2
* Screenshot 3
* Screenshot 4

I updated the website so you should be served with new vresion of stylesheets. Please let me know if problem persists.

Problem with logo has been fixed – if you can’t see it hit Ctrl + F5 or Cmd + F5 in Firefox, Cmd + R in Safari.

Have fun! :)

A nice design for a good teasing!
“Buy a licence and use it for as long as you want.” Does it induce another licence? Will ActiveCollab 1.0 be a commercial application? If we have to buy a licence, does it stay open source? Thanks for this effective web app!

activeCollab will be commercial application and we will not use open source license, but proprietary one. However, we want people to play with the code so you will still have access to code of free version to see how thing work and how activeCollab can be extended.

Ok, thanks for these details. I am ready to pay for this very interesting tool (I wait for the price before!), but as far as I am concerned, I should have to extend ActiveCollab in order to integrate it in an existing IT infrastructure (LDAP, ERP, CRM, data security…).

Let us wait the v.1.0!

Is there any word on what the price point will be for the new commercial version?

Thanks,

I was watching and anticipating this thinking it would be a free alternative to basecamp. I’m kind of bummed now that it’s going to be a licensed product.

Certainly had the idea this would be a free alternative as well… I think that it would be more than fair to share with us what the price point for this software will be, so that we all can evaluate whether we want to continue using the .07 version or just start looking for an alternative…

Definitely impressed with how things work until now though and would love to be able to continue using it, which I will, as long as the price is reasonable…

I agree on wanting to know a price point. I know a lot of work and time went into this software and its great. I found it a little while back while looking for not only a free alternative to Basecamp but also one that I can host on my own server and keep my own backups.

Oh wow love the new design. I am so psyched about the upcoming release. This project surely has grown from its inception.

The new design is great but the ‘login’ and ‘register’ wordings are not displayed properly on IE7 on Window Vista. Am I the only one having this problem?

@uncalau:

You are right – Login / Register box is broken in IE7.

We’ll have it fixed as soon as possible. Thanks for the report!

Ilija, could u tell if activecollab 1.0 (commercial version) will also be installed on my server or on yours?
Regards.

You will be able to download it and install it on your own server.

That’s greate, btw when the new version will be released (approximately), what will be the price (I understand that it is a commercial secret, but may be you’ll drop a hint :))? And the last, if there will be the opportunity to import data from previous version?

PS Could u show us more screenshots, thanks :)

Argh. I have been waiting in anticipation for months and held off on some projects for the 1.0 release, today I find we will be charged for the 1.0 release. I am all for being paid for your work (and you should, this is a great app) but I am also bummed this will now be proprietary and have a licence fee. It was shaping up to be a great alternative to Basecamp, but now I have gone to using Basecamp being it’s currently available and an excellent app. Ho hum. You do have a great product here…it’s strength was in open source though.

No proprietary code encryption (zend / ioncube) please!.

I like my PHP to run light, thanks.

@Joe Aston:

Free version will come with the full source, but commercial version will be partially encoded (additional modules and licensing related code).

A commercial version that includes full source code may be introduced in the future if enough people show interest for it, but for start it will not be available.

Any hints on what some of the add-on / commercial features will be?

A very nice feature would be if it integrated with mod_dav_svn folders managed via apache. This would provide some means of drag-drop file management rather than the traditional file upload model.
